Friendship Centre’s First Intern

We have our first student intern, Kailey Rodriguez from the CAC’s Underground Student Resident Program, helping out with  Children’s Programs and Special Events here at the Friendship Centre.  Kailey is a junior at Plainfield East High School  and was chosen as one of the first four student residents, as part of the HighPoint University program.  HighPoint University is a project of Community 4:12, a non profit group which  plans to work with middle and high school students preparing them to be the next generation of community leaders.

Kailey has been helping out with our KLH2 after-school program serving snacks, making art projects and helping with homework.  She was also an integral part of our Trunk-or-Treat event last month, designing flyers, marketing, making trophies, & coordinating judges.  This month she will be rounding up canned goods for the Harvest Food Drive and collecting winter coats, boots, gloves/mittens and hats for children in need.
